The Men's Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. (September through June)

Our Goal

The goal of the Men's Club today continues to be the support of the pastor and his vision of parish needs.  The Friday night bingo game, which was started over forty years ago, provided significant financial assistance for the school construction.  Over $1.6 million has been raised and used for school purposes throughout the years.

 

Our History

The Men's Club was organized over forty years ago when Father Damian was our pastor.  The primary goal after building the original church (now offices and meeting rooms) was starting a school.  The men were tasked with raising funds to support the endeavor as well as physical assistance with grounds maintenance.  At the time, approximately half of `the men in the parish responded to the call volunteering their time and energy to provide needed facilities for a new growing parish.

 

What we Provide

To foster greater social interaction for the parish, the men cook and serve three spaghetti dinners per year for inexpensive family gatherings. We also provide: 

٠ Dinner for the Daddy/Daughter Dinner Dance in February each year is donated and cooked at no cost to the Athletic Committee.

٠ Annual dinner cooked and served at the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center by the combined Women’s and Men’s Clubs.

٠ Breakfast for the Women’s Annual Communion Breakfast in March is cooked and served by the Men’s Club members.

٠ Food for the annual parish Spring Fest in May

٠ Parish picnic in September is also prepared and served by the Men’s Club.

Friday Night B-I-N-G-O

We also conduct the Friday Night BINGO.  Donations from bingo profits go directly to the church and then are passed on to the school through the PTG, and also the school Endowment Fund, Teacher’s Benefit Fund, to retirement funds for priests and nuns, and other selected charitable organizations in the community. 

 

Parish Ministry Support 

Many of our members are also involved in other parish ministries (i.e. Parish Council, Financial Council, Ushers, Lectors, and Eucharistic Ministers), as well as other outside fraternal organizations including the Knights of Columbus.  All are welcome.

 

Our Invitation to You

We are always in need of new members to help and continue to provide these services to the parish.  We encourage you to join with us; your help will be a blessing and will be greatly appreciated by all.

 

Come join us at 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month (except July and August) in the Men’s Clubroom in the gym.  All men of the parish are invited to attend and stay for refreshments after the meeting where you can get answers to your questions about the Men’s Club.  You may also stop in the gym on any Friday evening after 5:30 PM and offer to help with the B-I-N-G-O game.
